I was
born and raised in the suburbs of St. Louis, Missouri. In
June 2013, I graduated magna cum laude from Princeton University, earning an
A.B. in Germanic Languages & Literatures with certificates (i.e. minors) in
Medieval Studies and Japanese Language & Culture. While an undergraduate, I
also focused heavily on creative writing, taking five semesters of prose
fiction and literary translation workshops. During my summers, I studied and
worked abroad in Japan and Germany. With schooling now behind me, I currently reside in the outskirts of Columbus, Ohio, where I'm employed as a Japanese interpreter and translator.
I
possess accounts on LinkedIn under my full name and Facebook under a nickname.
I am not on Twitter, Pinterest, Myspace, or any other form of social media.
This
blog is intended to serve as a portfolio of my translations, creative writing,
and academic writing. The languages I translate are German, Japanese, and Middle
High German.
As the
original translations on this blog either belong to public domain works or are
short excerpts of licensed material provided for non-profit demonstrative
purposes, they ought to constitute fair use under United States copyright law.
